Young Francophone Leaders International Network (RIJLF) Launch Cameroon Branch

Réseau International des Jeunes Leaders Francophones – RIJLF (Young Francophone Leaders International Network), an international organization that is engaged in leadership development in French speaking countries in the world has launched its Cameroon branch. The launching that took place on Saturday 21 October, 2017 in Douala brought together selected leaders and social entrepreneurs from different regions of Cameroon to put in place a team to carry out the activities of the organization in Cameroon.
In all, 14 leaders of various background took part in the launching with some participating live on Skype. The meeting started with a video message of encouragement from the President General of RIJLF, Mélina SEYMOUR, who could not be part of the launching because of other activities she was carrying out.
A bureau to run the affairs of RIJLF Cameroun was put in place with its head, Cathy Kenne (President of Ladies Care) as the National Representative. Yolande Kima (SHREC-CIG) was elected Secretary General assited by Marion Kanna (Vice President of Afrique Futur). The other positions filled included: Project Manager – Jean Joël MAKOLLE assisted by Francis TSAGUE and Franklin KAMDJO; Finance will be headed by Emmanuel Tagukomen (Treasurer) and assisted by Kika Awasom (Financial Secretary); the communication department is headed by Judith Barbara NJIGUET to be assisted by Gaël TCHOUPE and Derick Sullivan Lobga (Founder OpenHub Initiative).
RIJLF-Cameroun brainstormed on the various social projects of the leaders present in order to come out with a single project to be carried out by the organization in Cameroon in the months to come. Projects discussed ranged from potable water and solar / renewable energy in the rural areas of Cameroon, education of the youths especially women and girls and youth empowerment through the running of various sustainable social projects. Some regions were identified by the members present where future actions will be taken.
They also discussed on how to create sub-branches to cover the entire regions in Cameroon and it was proposed that it will be sub-divided into four zones. It should be noted that the launching in Douala was done by selected leaders all over the national territory. A general meeting will be put in place where other leaders and would-be leaders will be invited to attend.
Réseau International des Jeunes Leaders Francophones – RIJLF, is an organization with objective to bring together young Francophone leaders, mentors and entrepreneurs who have shown exceptional leadership skills and courage in bringing about positive change in their communities through socio-cultural, environmental and entrepreneurial activities with the aim to ameliorate the living conditions of the community. The organization has branches in Haïti, France, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, Mauritania, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Tchad, Congo Brazzaville, Niger, Central African Republic, Cameroon and Canada where it has its headquarter in Québec.
